School Programs:
We will design a program to meet your school’s needs. For more information, see brochure
Our first ever program at Explorer Elementary culminates with the
Production of, "School House Rock Live! Jr" on May 10th 2007 in
the school's Gathering Area. The show includes 40 Explorer
students and is PCT's first major production away from its home
location in Mission Hills. Explorer Elementary is a new charter
school located in the old Naval Training Center in Point Loma.
Because of a generous grant from a private individual, Pacific Children's
Theatre is able to provide after-school drama classes to the Title I
students of Garfield Elementary at no cost to the families or to the
school. To date, PCT has exposed over 150 students to the joys of
performing arts. Many of these students had never seen a play,
let alone been a part of one. Garfield Elementary's staff is finding
new and innovative ways to provide enrichment opportunities, after
school activities, and tutoring to their students despite the lack
of funding for such important programs. PCT is proud to be a community
partner of Garfield Elementary.
As part of Grant Elementary's Thursday Kid's Club, PCT offers after school programs
to the elementary school students at Grant Elementary. Our first class, "Make-a-Play"
was for kindergarten and first grade and culminated with a short performance of
Giraffes Can't Dance.
PCT is part of Sunset View Elementary after-school enrichment program
and teaches two weekly classes. This is PCT's first semester at
Sunset View and we hope to continue teaching there well into the future.
The Urban Discovery Academy, UDA, is a brand new public, charter school located in Banker's Hill.
It's mission is to provide a rigorus education that develops the whole child as a scholar, artist,
athlete, and democratic member of society. In addition to a strong academic program, every UDA
student gets the following enrichment programs- studio art, performing arts, P.E. and Spanish.
PCT teaches acting, singing, and dancing as part of UDA's required curriculum and produces three
productions for the school community annually. UDA is currently seeking applications for
pre-school and grades 2-6 and once the classes are full, enrollment will go to a lottery system.
Don't miss your chance to enroll.
